Stephné Botha
CEO
Stephné was appointed as the CEO of Innovation of the Blind in 2019, but she has been with the organisation since 2010. She is passionate about working with persons with visual impairments and other disabilities to achieve their goals. She serves on various governing bodies as a board member, chairperson, and trustee and has been involved in community upliftment since her career started in a small hospital in the rural Northern Cape. Stephné is inspired by persons achieving their potential while overcoming challenges!
Alitha Prinsloo
MANAGER: HOMES & SERVICES
Alitha began her journey at IftB in 2010 as an administrative clerk at Ebenhaezer Home. During this period, she worked at the Services offices (2011) as an administrative officer and Head of Care at Ebenhaezer. After a restructuring process (2015) she was appointed Assistant Manager of 3 Homes as well as superintendent at Huis Katie Van Rensburg. In May 2019, she was appointed Manager of Homes and Services and this is also the position she currently holds.
Belinda Coetzee
MANAGER: FINANCES & ADMIN
Upon completion of her studies, Belinda was appointed as accountant at the Institute for the Blind in 1995. In this capacity, spanning 26 years, she had the privilege of growing with the organisation and experiencing inevitable change over the years. Balance in life is of utmost importance to Belinda, and this may just be the reason why accountancy and the presentation of financial results is her passion.
Sharon Truter
MANAGER: SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
Sharon was employed at PWC for 8 years, before embarking upon her new adventure at IftB. Her original appointment was as an accountant, but her position has since expanded to coordinate the finances and day-to-day management of our Skills and Vocational Development projects. Sharon has been with Innovation for the Blind for 14 years and enthusiastically looks for exciting new projects that our people with visual impairments can enjoy.
Corrie Malan
MANAGER: FUNDRAISING & MARKETING
In January 1999, Corrie was appointed at the Institute for the Blind as data processer in the Department of Development and in 2002 she became fundraiser in this department. With her appointment as Assistant Manager: Fundraising and Marketing in 2018 she also served on the Management Team of the organisation. Corrie’s fundraising expertise and warm people skills led to her promotion as Manager: Fundraising and Marketing in April 2021.
Estelle Louw
ASSISTANT MANAGER: ELDERLY CARE
Estelle was previously employed at Medi Clinic, Worcester, for 15 years before her appointment at the Institute for the Blind in June 2006 as Medical Coordinator in the infirmary of Brevis Home for the aged. Her passion and sincere concern for the wellbeing of our frail members of society led to her promotion as Care Provider in 2011 and her current appointment as Assistant Manager of Brevis Home in 2017.
