FEEL FREE TO EXPRESS WHAT YOU ARE GRATEFUL FOR TODAY
Ciskia Steer
This past year has been tough on us all, and we could all do with a sprinkle of kindness. Giving Tuesday, which took place on 30 November, provides an opportunity for people around the world to unite through generosity in all its forms and to share their acts of kindness.
Generosity gives everyone the power to make a positive change in the lives of others and is a fundamental value anyone can act on. We here at Innovation for the Blind, Worcester are extremely grateful for the generosity we have experienced throughout the year. We asked our staff and residents what they are grateful for, and here are some of their responses: “I am grateful that I am able to mean or do something for someone else every day, especially for our residents with visual impairments”; “I am grateful for the opportunity to meet amazing and inspiring people with visual impairments who always shine a light of appreciation”; “I am grateful for people who still care about others, especially in these difficult times”; “I am grateful for all your prayers for our organisation”; “I am grateful for every obstacle because it only makes us stronger and builds character.”
As you prepare for the festive season ahead, we would like to invite you to think about what you are grateful for, and to spare a thought for our visually and additionally disabled residents, who are unable to spend the festive season with their loved ones. If you would like to consider making a difference in the life of a visually impaired person, please contact Innovation for the Blind on 023 347 2745 or email info@innovationfortheblind.org
